A crucial factor leading you to make a choice is how the chassis folds, which can be a book-fold or an umbrella-fold.
All our chassis have a book-fold, with the exception of Easy Drive, which has an umbrella-fold and is available in the Switch Easy Drive Completo Modular and Switch Easy Drive Sportivo Modular versions.  

Book Plus, Book Plus S, Book Plus 51 have a book-fold but the features listed below make them different.

Book Plus S is the top of the range and its distinguishing features are the faux-leather handlebar, the Soft-Ride wheels and the side command, which allows you to switch from locked to swiveling wheels without bending down. It stands out for its elegant design. It is available in two colors (Jet or White-Black) in the Completo, Sportivo and PopUp versions.

Book Plus 51  - as the name says - is only 51 centimeters wide and moves easily, fits everywhere (even in the narrowest of lifts) and takes up less room in the boot of the car. Its compactness is its winning feature and it is available in the Completo, Sportivo and PopUp versions. The available chassis colors are Jet and White-Black.

Book Plus is the innovative chassis that marked the “Book” era in the Peg Perego mansion. It comes in two colors, Silver-Black or Total-Black. This super-maneuverable compact stroller can be opened, folded and steered with just one hand. It is available in the Completo, Sportivo and PopUp versions.

As the picture clearly shows, these three chassis can be fitted with two bassinets, Navetta XL  (suitable in cars for newborns or up to 10 kg, Group 0) or Navetta PopUp (which does not need to be removed from the chassis to fold). The kind of set and the available colors and fabric depend on which bassinet you choose.

We have two more modular systems to talk to you about, the ones we define "Special edition".

Book Plus 500 is the travel system signed by FIAT - a dynamic system with lots of different accessories all tuned to the unique Fiat 500 car.

Book Pure Modular is one of the new items in the 2015 collection. Its total-white look and faux-leather details make it a truly "glamorous strolling" modular system.
The available fabrics and colors are part of the Glamour Collection, in which trendy colors and faux-leather are harmoniously combined.

Light and easy to handle, the stroller comes with a durable lacquered aluminum frame. Its compact size and light weight - just 8 kg - make it ideal for quick trips and strolling through the city. Moreover, the side handle makes it easy to carry. One hand is all it takes to close and, once closed, this free-standing stroller is extremely compact.
Another feature of our new stroller is its maneuverability - the wheels with suspensions and the 12 ball bearings provide 360° maneuverability which means it requires 30% less effort to push compared to ordinary strollers. Not bad, eh?
To ensure dynamic steering, the front wheels can be swiveling or blocked and the back ones have a central brake.
 Being only 51 cm wide it is so narrow (as well as light) that there is no door or lift it cannot get through or into.

Sì Switch comes with cover and rain hood included and has a large basket for everything you may need when out and about.
Sì Switch is available in different colors. All fabric parts can be removed so they can be washed. The soft jersey cloth will keep your child very comfortable. The SoftFabric Collection line is made up of two layers of soft, hard-wearing jersey, with soft lining in between them.

The Sì Switch stroller can be easily turned into a modular system that you can use every time you move. The chassis is extremely light (just 5.9 kg!) and, combined with the adapters, is compatible with the Primo Viaggio SL car seat and the Pop-Up Bassinet (sold separately).

BabyCushion, mosquito net, bag, travel bag, parasol and cup holder are extra elements in the Sì Switch universe - an extremely flexible universe we will talk to you about again!

The Ganciomatic system makes Booklet compatible with the Primo Viaggio SL car seats (sold separately).

Booklet has an all-round hood that includes a sun canopy with built in UPF 50+ UV protection and a net window, to ensure perfect ventilation during the hottest season. There is an "easy-load" large basket in which to put your child's toys or the day's shopping.

Booklet is versatile and dynamic and the whole family - i.e. the young passenger and the 'driver' - will find it really comfortable. It is available in four colors, Tulip (the red version of the images above), Fleur, Onyx and Aquamarine, shown below. There are a lot of accessories (sold separately) such as the bumper bar, cup-holder, blanket, rain cover, mosquito net and Baby Cushion.

A frequently stressed detail is the stroller's fold. Nowadays, strollers that can be easily collapsed are something we take for granted. Just think of what it was like before :-O Obviously you want a stroller that folds, but how should it fold? Book fold or umbrella fold? What’s the difference?

The first difference is linked to the model you wish to buy. If you are looking for a stroller with an excellent performance record that is actually quite bulky (such as our GT3), you will inevitably have a book fold. This closing system is required to ensure the balance needed to make even a bulky stroller easy to collapse.

‘Normal’ strollers, such as lightweight or highly manoeuvrable strollers, can have a book fold or an umbrella fold.

A stroller with a book fold (such as the Aria model) can be opened and collapsed very quickly and easily. With this kind of fold, hopping on and off buses is effort-free.

With an umbrella fold, you can collapse the stroller with one hand (our umbrella fold strollers include Pliko Mini, Sì, Pliko P3 and Switch). This kind of fold can make a big difference if you are walking a dog as well as pushing the stroller.

A rule of thumb seems to be “two handles: umbrella fold, one handle, book fold” but do not let that fool you because there are exceptions. Our Pliko Switch Easy Drive, for example, has one handle (which makes it very manoeuvrable) and an umbrella fold. It can be steered and closed with one hand, which are the features we wanted this product to have.

Regardless of the book fold or umbrella fold, our closing systems are designed and tested to ensure mothers can deal with strollers with as little stress as possible.
And the dog? Sorry, you will have to think about that…

Among the hundreds of wheel-related technical details and specifications (ball bearings, suspensions, inflatable tires) there is one detail worth investigating, i.e. fixed or swivel front wheels.

I don’t know if the same happened to you, but I clearly remember not really understanding how they could be a ‘great asset’ when I was first told about them.

Swivel wheels make a stroller more manoeuvrable when avoiding an obstacle or turning a corner on the pavement. It is less effort to turn a stroller with swivel wheels because it is not necessary to tilt it and raise the front wheels, which, considering the passenger’s weight, can be quite physically demanding.

Fixed wheels are perfect for walking in a crowd. There is no risk of the strollers’ wheels getting caught. They are excellent when going in a straight line and are suitable for athletic mums training for our strolleraces in the park. Fixed wheels are recommended on escalators because there is less risk of having to brake at the end. They are also recommended on lifts and while queuing in tight spaces, such as supermarket tills.

You can offer mothers nothing better than letting them decide between front fixed wheels or swivel wheels. And we only choose the best for you

Selecting ‘child-suitable’ holidays is a good starting point but even when staying with granny and grandpa or camping, a few simple precautions are all you need for peace of mind.

Packing your suitcase is the first step, but consider things such as travel sickness, insect bites, sun protection… be careful about when you are under the sun, especially if you are going to the beach.

Being almost naked all day, getting wet, rolling around in the sand… nothing makes children happier than the beach… happy but wild, to their parents’ delight We cannot help you with sandcastles (although we would really like to), but we can tell you that we have strollers suitable for any kind of beach, sand or dune. Instead of struggling with an uncooperative stroller to reach the little spot you have set your eyes on, you will feel as though you were pushing your darling on a paved street.

Our GT3 stroller is suitable for all kinds of terrain. The effect of inflatable tires and ball bearings is combined with the suspensions on the back wheels. It can be adjusted for three kinds of terrain, hard, medium and soft. If you are on the sand or on a lawn, select hard. If you are crossing a dirt track, go for soft. The medium setting is suitable for evening strolls on the seafront – remember to switch to soft again as soon as you are back on the pavement. Try it out

Whatever beach or stroller you choose, never forget to clean and look after your stroller, so next year you can say “same beach, same stroller” and really mean it!

It is suitable from birth because the backrest is reclining (more than 150°). It can be closed easily without bending. This free-standing stroller fits into any boot and leaves room for suitcases, shopping bags, balls, picnic baskets etc.

You will want to take such a versatile stroller everywhere. The central handle can be used to pull the stroller as if it were a suitcase with wheels. Alternatively, you can carry it from the side handle. The stroller’s accessories include the travel bag (for flying).

Pliko Mini is small but extremely easy to push. It has suspensions on the wheels that match the pattern on the fabric – how elegant is that? There are swivelling or locking wheels at the front and a brake on the back ones. The height of the handles is adjustable so that, however tall you are, you can walk comfortably.

Pliko Mini, maxi comfort: the reclining backrest (3 positions) and adjustable foot rest make this stroller perfect for napping – which is not always possible with strollers of this kind. Add the extras – mosquito netting, rain cover, waterproof hood, sun umbrella. Even the five-point safety harness can be adjusted, giving the passenger more freedom to move.

In the 2012 collection this real little “gem” has what can only be considered an amusing, cheerful, contemporary and definitely pop print pattern - comics.

We asked Elisa, the stylist who designed the pattern, a few questions.

Not just plain colours - are mothers ready for a pattern with a strong character?
I think that everybody today needs to be positive and this cheerful pattern brightens the day of the people who buy the stroller.

Why a comic strip pattern? What kind of mothers do you think it will appeal to?
It will appeal to young mothers with character, active mothers who are not afraid to dare and like to be fashionable.

How did the stroller’s pattern come about? Did you make it? What does it represent?
I made it entirely myself. It started a bit as a game but we liked it immediately and really enjoyed drawing it. It pays homage to comic strips and there is a fantastic story in the stroller.

Do you consider it a unisex print pattern or do you think the mothers of boys are more likely to choose it?
We don’t think it is more of a boy’s pattern. We also take into account that this kind of stroller is usually chosen by an older brother or sister. The pattern is striking and certainly does not go unobserved.
