Or the step test. Up and down, up and down. Somehow I think you'll know what we mean...

Mothers and fathers at the helm of a stroller have to encounter numerous obstacles. There is uneven terrain, broken surfaces and there are many steps that have to be faced before you arrive at your "destination".

One of the tests that our products are subjected to in the Testing Dept. - a test demanded by current regulations - is in fact the step test.

The stroller is “loaded” with a weight that equals that of a child, and an additional weight in the basket, and is subjected no less than 30,0000 alternative lifting cycles for the front and rear wheels by machine.

More or less as you can see in this short video.

If you think about it for a moment 30,000 steps are really a lot :-O Something tells us that you'll remember these pictures the next time you face the stairs

The tested product is run on a conveyor belt containing small obstacles and must complete this ‘obstacle path’ 38,000 times without breaking or parts coming loose.

The Rolling road test is required by the law. We have a special machine for this kind of test in the Peg Perego testing department.

Like all other machines, it has a notice explaining how it works and the properties checked during this test.

The product - in this case a stroller – is "loaded” with weights corresponding to the passenger (15 kg) and a bag (5 kg) in the carrier basket and then put on the modified conveyor belt with obstacles. After about 38,000 cycles, members of the staff check the stroller is not broken in any way and no part has come loose after the long run and stress.

Here is a short video to help you understand exactly what happens.

All your daily obstacles are here, in a very long (about 200 km!) ‘walk’, to check that the product deserves our “It’s obviously worth it!"
